Angry How to avoid having to go into each app to change sound settings

Hi,

I have had a Samsung Galaxy Ace for just over a month now, and it's fine except for one thing. I have many downloaded apps such as whatsapp, go-sms, email provider, twitter, facebook, etc. When I go into the phone sound settings I can change from vibrate/silent/loud, but this only changes the call settings and the original sms application (which I don't use). Therefore, every night I have to go into each individual app and change the sound/vibrate settings. There must be a solution to this, whereby you have a master setting that toggles between vibrate/silent/loud in all of these apps. I have downloaded, tried, and then uninstalled many different sound profile apps and none of them seem to work. I know I'm not asking the impossible as I came from a blackberry which did this flawlessly. Does anyone know of any solution?

Thanks

I don't know about you, but simply using the volume rocker to put the phone on vibrate or silent will do just that for every application (except for music, games and videos, that's the "media" sound).

I think it's quite perfect like this, but it might be different on versions of Android prior to Gingerbread? I don't remember.

I know this may seem like overkill, but Tasker is perfect for this. You can have separate volumes for each app. Tasker also can do a ton of other stuff.

Me too. I have several sound profiles setup in Tasker. But the key is to enable sound and vibration within each app, and then using Tasker you can globally enable/disable vibration and change the ringer and notification volumes.

The solution is Volume Widget. You can configure 3 sound profiles. What I do is have one for at home, one for when I am asleep and one for when I am out. When I go to bed, I just set it to my sleep profile which turns off all sounds except for the ringer. You can do it with a single tap of the widget. When I wake up or go out, I change to the appropriate profile.
