Iím looking to move from my Nokia N900 (maemo based) to a new phone.
I have settled on Android, thatís something, so that narrows it down a bit
I had almost settled on the HTC Sensation, but on mentioning to workmates, two of them, one whoís GF works in Carphone WH, said they canít shift them, they keep getting returned.
Just had a quick scan down the sensation section, and didnít seem to be many threads there complaining?
Are there known hardware issues with them?
My brother recently got a Nokia N8 and was without it for several weeks as it had to go back for a fault.
Iíd find that quite tediousÖ
Also, my selection is based upon some live driving in said shop above, where very nicely, they had some that could actually go online for a live trial.
My requirements are quite heavy forum use, and general browsing, including the ability to shop online. I mention this as my GFs Wildfire could not proceed past a certain point in a checkout procedure on Saturday, whereas reverting to my N900, it breezed through it.
I want a browser that is as feature rich as the default Mozilla one (MicroB) on maemo, though also will be looking at either forum runner and tapatalk, and also perhaps opera mini for allowance economy.
I would choose browser depending on circumstances.
One think I did like about the Sensation is the fact that the text enter keyboard has up/down/left/right arrow keys (Or was that on the XL?)
I would like those keys if possible.
I want a big screen and lots of pixels as I want to view photographs as well as possible for a phone.
I thought the XL was the way forward until I discovered it has less pixels than the Sensation (what gives?).
I tried the Galaxy S2 (is it) (briefly of course) but preferred the HTC.
I also want an email client that I can leave running that will periodically check for new mail, but can be set not to download emails that have attachments, for example when you get a 2 or 3 meg funny video or PPS.
I havenít delved into the apps section yet as I think step one is to get the hardware to meet my needs.
Is the Sensation a good buy, and will suit my needs, or is there a better choice?
(sorry for the War and Peace novel but I must choose wisely as 2 years is a long time if it drives me round the bend.)
