You mean inivisible by "no background but there is still text and stuff", or as in truly invisible shortcuts to apps?

I'm looking for a truly invisible widget or app so for instance if I click on the area around an object in the wallpaper like a telephone, so that if I were to touch the telephone in my wallpaper it would take me to my phone app.

There are note taking widgets which are fully transparent.
So without notes they are invisible

Long time ago I tried such widgets but a can't remember their names, sorry.

Unfunny post deleted. That's twice now.

Next comedian posting an unhelpful comment here gets an infraction.

You need Desktop Visualizer, or as suggested before, a launcher that allows you to select a custom app icon. Then a transparent image file needs to be made using photoshop/corel/gimp/whathaveyou. Use that as the icon for the app shortcut you want.

desktop visualizer works on the default launcher a well. Just instal the app then add the dv widget to your home screen and as an icon image use a transparent gif file. I made my own in Photoshop.
