Default Is there ANY way to connect to network on my galaxy s2 using my PC's connection(wired router)

Hey,yesterday I finally got a galaxy s2.This is my 1st android experience and I have to say that its a great experience so far.Well,I was wondering if I can connect to network on my phone using my PC's connection. My router is wired :/ And even if its possible,is it free ? 1 more question...When I turn my phone to a WiFi hotspot, does that mean that the phone itself is using this hotspot to access internet ?

1. No, there is no way unless you get a wireless router. Not sure if bluetooth tether works.

2. If you turn your phone into a wifi hotspot, it means that it will connect to your network internet (therefore using up your phone balance) to share that internet to other devices.

Oh,I see...
I have another question if you don't mind, how do I know if an app(or game) is using internet ? I got data mode deactivated and Wifi disabled, can an app still use internet if I got those disabled ??
Edit:Oh,I also got background data disabled which is responsible for allowing apps to send and receive data.

If your PC has a wireless card/antenna (even though you are connecting to the net with a wired connection), all you need is a softyware like Connectify to broadcast a wi-fi signal from your PC. Then you just connect to that wifi signal with your phone.

You can buy a wireless router $for 50-100. Best Buy carries them. You may have to update your wireless router's drivers in order for your phone to connect, thats what my dad had to do. Wireless router will allow you to connect your PC by wire if you choose to, as well as use devices wireless.
