Is the only way to use IMAP instead of POP, to use the email app instead of the Gmail app on the phones? I have a Samy Galaxy S II, and can find no setting to allow IMAP-- unless I use the email app on the phone???

From what I remember, Gmail using IMAP instead of POP is on the Gmail settings in Gmail.com itself, not on the app.
