My contract ending soon and due to costing concerns, I don't think I will be taking the latest model. So based on my country carriers, I narrow down to LG vs Samsung (older models). It seems LG Optimus 2x has better config than Samsung Galaxy. Anyone one using LG Optimus Android phone can comment in terms of hardware usability?

PS country carriers no longer carry Moto models (even if they carry is very expensive based on my budget)

Which Samsung Galaxy are we talking about here? And what exactly do you mean by "better config"? If spec for spec and pricing is your concern, the new Galaxy R by Samsung is a decent competitor. In fact under benchmark tests the R performs better than the LG because of the bigger RAM. In my country pricing is very similar.

FWIW, IMO the Galaxy R stands a better chance of getting an OS update compared to the almost a year old LG, as that company has an even worse update record compared to Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy R not offered by carrier. It is Samsung Galaxy W Black or White.

If its Galaxy W, I'm inclined to think that the 2X will be a better phone since its dual core, and the Galaxy W only has a single core 1.4Ghz. But I will still buy the Samsung, because I trust the brand more.
