Apologies if this covered elsewhere, but I can't find the answer so giving it a go in here.

I have an HTC Desire S and use the native Android mail app to connect to my Gmail, Hotmail and Exchange accounts. I have them all set up correctly and all seem to work.

However, I have noticed that on my Hotmail account, if the message has an attachment and I open it on the phone first, it seems to vanish. And I mean from everywhere. When I re-open Mail on the phone, it's gone. If I go to Hotmail, it's gone. It's like it never existed.

Anyone got a) any ideas what the hell is happening and b) where they might have vanished to?

I did notice that on a mail with an attachment that I opened (i.e. I opened the mail and the attachment) that was a .pdf, I managed to find the .pdf hiding in the system folders but no sign of the accompanying message.

This is a major pain in the rear as it is losing me important messages.
