Confused What apps did I have?

Is there any way to tell what apps I had on my phone? I backed up the sdcard then formatted everything- I thought the apps I'd move to the sdcard would be obvious and I could reinstall.

Baring that, is there a way to tell on marketplace which apps I had installed? Like list by username or something?

When in the Market, tap the menu button. This should bring up a menu and one of the options should be "My Apps". I don't think it will show you any free apps, but any apps you paid for should be listed. This is how it works for me, hopefully, you will be able to see the same thing.

Yeah I knew about that, all paid apps are there. I was hoping for a list of the free apps... spent a long time figuring out which clock I liked etc, but of course didn't save any of it.

Check for a folder named .android_secure in your SD card backup .
You will see a bunch of .asec files like
"com.dolphin.browser-1.asec","com.opera.mini.android-1.asec" and so on
This are the package names of Dolphin Browser and Opera Browser .
You can guess all the the apps from files names .

If you log onto the market using a PC and select My Library you will see all the apps you ever installed (free and paid). They will show "installed" but ignore that. You can click the "installed" button to send any of the apps to your phone.
