Default Gmail notifications on android

Hi,

Does anyone know of a way to schedule Gmails notifications on or off at certain times without a 3rd party app?

If not, are there any third party apps that make this possible without giving the app my gmail password??

I have an HTC EVO 3D.

Thanks very much for any help.

you can't schedule notification times on the gmail app. You can use 3rd party email app but you'll need to enter your password so it can check your account for new emails.

You can always turn the phone to silent or use a 3rd party profile app to turn the notification sounds off between certain times.

what are you trying to accomplish? Why wont you enter your gmail password into a 3rd party email app?

Thanks for the fast response!

I can enter my password was just trying to avoid it.

I had been turning the sound off mainly at night and at work, but found that I would frequently forget to turn it back on.

Any idea of the best 3rd party app for this?

If you have a Evo 3D, the HTC mail app that's built in to Sense can do what you're looking for easily. Just go into Settings > Accounts and add a Mail account. Or open "Mail" in your app list. It'll walk you through the setup.

And after you're done doing that, you just tell the app how often to check for new mail and what hours to not check for mail.

Thanks. I think I will go with the HTC mail app for now. Would be better if I could set the ringtone for it it works good for what I need.

Thanks for the fast responses!
