Default Can't Receive Calls from iPhones

Hi everybody, newbie here. First post.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Mini phone, friends with iPhones don't seem to be able make calls to my phone! apparently they get the message 'call failed' immediately on their screens. They have tried more than once from different locations.

Any ideas please?

Duncan

Are you able to receive phone calls from anyone else?

Yes, it seems to work fine with other phones.

Were you a recent iPhone user yourself?

This is probably unrelated, but I was missing quite a few text messages on my Razr when I switched. I checked my iphone, which now only has wifi, and they were all there. The reason was iMessage, which doesn't send texts via your carrier.

Like I said, probably unrelated to your problem... but thought Id chime in.

Another thought. Did you change carriers and keep your number?

I did this with my home phone and they told me it could take a few hours to a few days for all of the networks to be able to route calls to that number on a new carrier. Sure enough, folks calling me on the carrier I moved to worked immediately, VZW took about 3 hours, Verizon (landline) which I switched from, took about 24 hours (I think they were bitter), and other cell carriers slowly came through after a few days.

Also prob unrelated but back when i had an Iphone i had a couple friends on the same account together with BB's who couldn't call me a lot of the time. It would just come and go and eventually went away. I think there could be a multitude of reasons for this problem. I'd start with service provider.

I did change carriers and kept my old number.

However, I have had the phone about 3 months now and it recently dawned on me that people with iPhones were not getting through.

I realise that it doesn't make any sort of sense.

I agree with adeathnote. You might contact you carrier and see if they can figure it out. It shouldn't be happening at all, especially after 3 months.

Try sending an audio note via an Android phone to an iPhone and you will see that the other party can not hear your audio note (sent via Whatsapp) but if the other party sends you an audio note from their iPhone you can hear it and play it on your Android smartphone. Not sure why this is but this is the case sending audio note files via whatsapp.
