Hello, I have the Galaxy s 4g (bought three weeks ago). I rooted the phone to get rid of bloatware and would like to go back.

I tried to flash my phone to stock using Odin. It keeps failing. What is confusing is the .pit and tar(pda) files. Are both needed? I tried flashing many times with different files and also re-partitioned a couple times. I'm stuck now with the image of a phone, exclamation mark, and computer on screen.

Also, is there a link to the files that are working? Some links I found seem to be not working anymore.

1. Are both pit and tar files needed?
2. That image of phone, !, and computer - soft or hard brick? And is it fixable?
3. Link to files for my phone - Galaxy S 4g.
