Default Using the USB for an external WiFi Adaptor on Epic

I looked over the forums a bit and was unable to find anything pertaining to exactly what i need and Google just turned up how to tether. What i need to do is attach a external USB WiFi adapter to my Samsung Epic 4g, Specifically a Alfa 36h long range adapter, i have a rooted phone and an ap that picks up the ppp0 and the eth0 of the built in 3g and wifi respectively. I was wondering if this is possible before i go out and get/make cables to hook it in and if anyone has had experience with this, or if there is another way.

Thanks in advance
