Default Please help! Ghost files taking up space

Only reason this is semi urgent is because my 9 hour flight leaves soon and I need stuff to watch! ><

Ok, my android galaxy s2 only has 16 gb of internal memory. I had about 24 gigs of shows and movies lets say, so I wanted to transfer some stuff from my phone to my macbook (which I'm bringing) to free up space. All the shows and movies came from my windows 7 desktop.

So I transfer a movie to the macbook (old first gen) but it won't let me simply cut and paste. So I copy and paste it to my macbook, then "delete" it off my phone through the macbook (move to trash). Yet, when I check the memory of the phone through my desktop or macbook, it's still full, even though I sent 10gb of stuff to my macbook!. I restarted phone and even deleted the whole media file.

tl;dr - transferred movies and shows to macbook, deleted it from phone through macbook usb thing, memory still full, files can't be found.

It may be a Macbook display problem. Sometimes the Android phone memory shows as full, despite being empty. To correctly check your phone's memory, hold the home button to show the task switcher, press "task manager" and go to the "storage" tab. It will show the correct values for how much memory is left in the phone.
