Default Empty user dictionary

I am using Cyanogenmod 7.1.0 on an htc desire with a Danish dictionary (included in Cyanogenmod) and the stock keyboard.
Whenever I type a word not in the dictionary and tap it in the suggestions to select it, I am asked (as is normal) if I want to save the word in the user dictionary. I can select this option and the word is indeed remembered, but it doesn't show up in the user dictionary (as found in settings -> language & keyboard).
However, the app User Dictionary Manager (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.usr.dict.mgr&hl=en) is able to detect the words I have added and I am able to edit them there.
Also, I am able to add words to the standard user dictionary (from inside the settings menu), and they will show up in the suggestions when writing just the same as the words I have added by the keyboard prompt (which are not showing in the user dictionary).

Now my question is if anyone knows of a way to have the keyboard adding the words into the normal user dictionary as it seems very problematic having a app handle what (as far as I can see) could be handled well enough by the centralised user dictionary.
Also, does anybody know where the words are stored when they are not stored in the normal user dictionary?

sorry to bump this, but i would still be very interested if anyone knew anything about these dictionaries.
where are the words stored when they are not stored in the normal user dictionary?
it should of course also be noted that the phone is rooted.

Is your phone the Hd, S, or Z model? It would be good to know which one you have, so I could moved your thread to Its correct forum - where it can be seen by other users of this device. I'm thinking It's the Samsung Desire Hd, but I'm not quite sure.

my question concerns an htc desire (bravo), so that's neither an hd, s, z nor a samsung model.
if you could move this thread somewhere appropriate (i'm guessing you want it moved here: HTC Desire - Android Forums) i would be glad.
