Default Hi, i've got a question

I have found the search function so useful. It answers a question a day!

I downloaded the app "Astro file manager". Do I really need this app? I have only downloaded 6 different apps, "aCar, Facebook, Droid411, Google Sky Map, Spread Sheet Lite, and tv.com". I don't know anything about this, but it seems like a good app to have (Astro file manager), what does it do, how do I use it, will it make coffee for me?
As far as smart phones go, I am still in the stone age, I can dial, sometimes even the right number.

You can also use it to backup the 6 other apps that you have. So if you ever reset your phone you can easily redownload them from your SD card.

You can put apps on your SD card without rooting?

Yes you can. Except private/paid apps. That requires adb shell and root. I get paid apps free this way, and only pay for them if I like them. 24 hours isn't enough testing time as most bugs won't surface.
