I wish to God that doesn't come out anytime soon. I'm already set on either getting the SS or the N1 from Sprint, but the only drawback on these phones is the lack of a physical keyboard. If ever that comes out, I hope it would be like next year.
the rest of the phone is sexy hell yea, i'd kill for it, but that loop! its huge and isn't inform with the rest of the body, it sticks out wich kinda stinks

The Following User Says Thank You to PaulMcCartney For This Useful Post:
Swype > physical keyboard, the end. Especially the Droid/Mlestone's keyboard. Trust me, physical keyboards aren't always the best--just ask anyone who's owned a Palm Pixi, for example. I came from a Nokia 5730 Xpressmusic. Shittiest. Keyboard. Ever.

I have standards. This particular mock-up has been floating around forever; I thought it was hideous when I first saw it (especially the keyboard color), and have had no reason to change my mind. You want a good one? Look up renders of the Supersonic. Now that's classy.
Oh, you can have that without needing to put up with the square look and the keyboard:
It's been rumored something like forever, but I'm fairly sure the Supersonic is real. Yep, 4.3-in screen. Hardware's probably similar to the HD2, except of course it runs Android.

Seems to me your more worried about what other people think about your phone rather than the utility/usefulness of it. I personally, would not want to live like that.
That's quite the leap of illogic and a huge, unfounded assumption. Even setting aside the fact that I picked my phone based on its specifications, "I would not want to live like that"? Really? Is your life centered around your handset or something, such that your attitude toward it plays a large role in how you live? Sounds sad.
And yes, in case you were wondering, I find Samsung's phones in general (not just their Android ones) really, really unsightly. Ewww, that button arrangement. In case you didn't cotton on: my N1 both looks better and has superior hardware, plus a bigger developer community than any current Samsung Android phones. How's that for "usefulness and utility"?

What I want to see on a N2 is a slide out... capacitive screen keyboard.
That's right, slide out a second half screen for use as a touch keyboard, that can also double as a button bar or whatever software devs can think of using it for. That'd be sweet.
As for the the OP render, sorry, it just doesn't appeal to my sense of aesthetics. Something more like a HTC Supersonic or Xperia X10 is to my liking.
That's for a wrist strap. Because we have been dubbed not old enough for a big boy phone.
There has not been one truly sleek android phone with a keyboard for quite some time, I only hope one comes soon.
And that has been the rumor for some time. If anything, the nexus two would be the supersonic. Why is everyone in such a hurry for an n2? I mean really.

First off, whats up fellow Colorado resident!
Anyways, my only reason for wanting them to hurry with n2 would be if it actually had a keyboard. I can't
stand on-screen keyboards. My hands are too big and I hit 3-4 letters every time.
I also kinda feel like I got screwed over with my phone purchase because 2.1 is now out, and even though I bought my phone less than 2 months ago, it's still only running 1.5
I want a sleek, slim, updated phone with a full keyboard.
Is that too much to ask???! haha.

I want I want I want gimme gimme mine mine now!
Seriously... why are people throwing tantrums like little kids, when they are getting a FREE upgrade, no matter what the time frame. You knew what you were buying, when you bought it, so why do you feel entitled to someone NOW?

Seems your making some unfounded judgments.
When I bought my phone I had no idea what I was getting other than the specs that T-mobile had listed in their store. I had no idea what Android even was. I apologize (well... not really) if I am not automatically a genius is this topic and didn't know EVERYTHING going into my purchase, but that was the case for me and I am sure many many others. I am new to the whole mobile phone scene in general (just like you were once in your life). I joined this forum because the more I used my phone, the more I thought it was one of the coolest things I've ever owned, and the more I researched it. I didn't even know there was different OS's up until about a week ago and that is what I have been looking into and getting excited about. I was merely stating my opinion to WHY I would WANT a N2 out sooner than later because I have researched the N1 and thought it was a perfect phone for me except it didn't have a keyboard. Bummer for me.
Assuming simply makes an ASS out of U and ME and really detracts from the conversation. You've obviously been on these forums for some time so I am sure you could actually offer some good advice or state your opinion (nicely) rather than name calling or stating what's wrong with the person for having an opinion. That's the only childish action I've seen so far here.

Thats why there is a thing called an informed consumer, before I make any kind of significant purchase, (yes a phone qualifies, due to the 2 year agreement) I do research! I figure out just about every option I could, test drive whatever I want, and make an informed decision. If all consumers did this, 95%(speculation) of complainers would cease to exist.

So, according to your own words, My phone did not qualify as a significant purchase because I did not sign any contract binding me into an agreement of any sorts.
Again though, how are you going to rip on someone who is new to the smartphone industry? Have you EVER received an update on an OS, for any phone, before smartphones? Am I really that stupid because I did not think to look that up? I suppose talking sense to ignorance historically has not been very fruitful, so I will assume my efforts now are just as useless.

Prepaid plans are not an option for me. Yes, I have looked into them.
So now, I'm the ignorant one, because YOU failed to do the proper research. Don't blame others for your ignorance, and because you did not think to look that up, yes, that is your fault indeed. Just because your new to something, doesn't excuse your ignorance of the matter at hand. If you broke a law, and didn't know about the law, because you didn't"think to look it up", you are still responsible for the recourse of breaking said law. Same concept applies.

...Your comparing my buying of a phone without researching, to the same ignorance as breaking of a law I didn't know?... and your saying I'm ignorant?
