Forget the existing wifi connection and start from scratch. Let us know what you do step by step.

OP, any joy fixing this?

I have the same problem and tried everything to fix it. Others have fixed it by simply resetting to factory settings but it hasnt resolved it for me. I am getting really pee'd off and have sent an email to Samsung complaining.

I had to change from the default security settings in router configuration before I could connect at home. From memory, it's now set to WPA2 AES. The connection drops a lot more under ICS than it did with Gingerbread, and sometimes takes longer to establish, but it always gets there in the end.

I had a Galaxy SII with Sprint. Worked great until the Ice Cream Sandwich Update in Mid July. The Data portion of my phone became useless. I could not connect to WIFI and was contantly getting messages, while on 3G, stating "Failure to receive data". I went to the Sprint Store and they flashed my phone with Ice Cream Sandwich and I still had the same issue after leaving. They replaced my phone with another SII. The Original phone was purchased in March 2012. LEft the Sprint Store and the same issues continued to plaque the phone. I finally convinced Sprint to move me to a new model, Motorola Photon which is still on Gingerbread and itt works great. The SII is fantastic but not with Ice Cream Sandwich. My father is on a trip and he has the Galaxy SII. While traveling his phone updated yesterday and he is having the exact same issues. We will replace his phone when he returns.
