Confused Straight Talk data usage limits question.

I just got the Straight Talk prepaid set-up.(Unlimited,30 days) with my Galaxy Proclaim. I am new to using Android, and I know the Proclaim is new to Straight Talk.
The plan says “unlimited” but I believe excessive data usage could kill the unlimited status and terminate the plan that I paid $45 for.
I also have a mobile MiFi hot spot. (Prepaid thru Virgin) that I use for my laptop internet connection.
Will using my phone’s WiFi thru the hot spot mess me up with my plan, or should I just keep WiFi turned off altogether and stick with Straight Talk’s mobile web? Is the former cinsidered "tethering" to another device? Which is better, WiFi or the Mobile Web Browser?

Sorry so many questions at once, but I am greener than a leprechuan at this. LOL.
