First of all ...hello to everyone! I've visited so many forums..i hope i'll get some solutions to my problem in here.
So this is the deal...I recently bought a dual-sim android phone from China (low price with dual sim and android is something i couldn't find in my country). So the phone has android version 2.2.1 (although the phones settings indicates that the version is 2.3.4 ) and is an MT6516 phone. The problem is that i accidentally uninstalled the market app and now i cannot get anything from there. I tried to install it again but ...no luck..i've downloaded several versions of the market (directly the apk files) but i can't have it working. I currently use the ******** for some apps but there are tones of useful apps in the market that i cannot use.
If anybody can help me i would appreciate..Thanks

Any thread that has "China" and "Android" in the title gets my interest.

Might not be much you can do with it to get the Market back I'm afraid. Usually most phones or tablets coming from here don't have the Market or Play at all. Often whatever Chinese version of Android they use, sometimes doesn't play well with Google anyway. Hence the apparent difficulty in getting Market APKs to work.

Other thing is with this phone, there's many phones that are called MT6516, which presumably is in reference to the MediaTek chipset they all use.

Don't suppose there's anyway of contacting the manufacturer about it? Because we don't even know who they are.

You might as well buy a new phone. There are many Chinese phones that run Android 4.0 and you can root them as well.

Hello! Im new at this forum. A dumb question. Did you tried to factory reset the phone after you lost the play app? Try to contact the sales person whom you bought the phone from may be the can give you the firmware file.
Im importing phones from china and I get the firmware files from my vendor.

Hi Andreasd79, and welcome to AF

If the market app was uninstalled then a factory reset won't bring it back. What a factory reset does is erase user-installed apps, user data and settings. It doesn't restore anything that has been removed or undo modifications to the system. "Factory data reset" would be a better name for it.

Good luck if you're dealing with a trading company rather than an actual manufacturer. Because so many of these Shenzhen "tech" firms pretend they're manufacturers, even though they're really only trading companies that rent a bit of office and warehouse space in some Louhu or Futian tech park.

Can you speak Mandarin? Presumably you're dealing with a manufacturer, or a least a wholesaler or trading company that has manufacturer's ROMs.

I uninstall some Chinese apps I had on my Samsung Galaxy S3 copy. Everytime I factory reset the phone those app appears again. As same for my HTC One X G23. But I won't say I'm right. But isn't there a firmware backup on phones and tablet that will reset the phone to original state?. Like I said I'm new here and actually. I would like some help to root this phones. I have search in the internet but with no good results.

I don't speak mandarin, I'm speaking with my contact in china in English. It works good.
And this person is kind enough to give me the firmware I need. I use it as a first step in troubleshooting the phones before I send the phone to china for repair.
