Default Sent Phone Back Loaded With CWM

I sent a phone back last week under buyers remorse. The problem I have is, I can't remember if I uninstalled CWM or not. I'm pretty sure I did but can't exactly remember, I'm an idiot for not making sure.

So my question is, if a company get's back a phoneunder the 20 day buyers remorse rights will it be red flagged when they discover CWM? (If it's there)

And if it was red flagged I'm assuming I would be charged full retail price for the phone but then the phone would be mine right? They would have to ship it back to me?

You could be charged the full price of the new phone, but honestly I doubt it will come to that. They will put the stock software on the phone and if it checks out that everything is working OK I think you'll be fine.

I had a similar issue. I brought my bricked Atrix to an AT&T warranty center, complete with CWM and an unlocked bootloader. They took it back, no questions asked.

Thanks guys, appreciate the help.

For the sake of argument, let's say they do red flag it and charge me....at that point the phone would be mine for them to return right?

I would assume the old device still belongs to you if they were going to charge you for a new one.

I have no experience with this however. This is purely speculation

absolutely. modding the phone may void the warranty but it is certainly not illegal. a couple of years ago, a court told apple to get lost when it sued iphone users for jailbreaking.

you bought it. you own it, period, and it's yours to do what you want with it. unlike software, which you never buy, but license.

they'll send it back, otherwise it's plain old theft.

That's interesting, thanks.

i'm assuming I will be fine, just thinking ahead. I'm pretty sure it had CWM on it so we'll see.

I'll let you know how it goes, should be being notified any day now as to whether it sailed or failed.

Just to confirm, this went back fine. I'm 99% sure CWM was on it.
