Exclamation Sorry, I'm completely lost when it comes to "flashing"?

If I'm asking this in the wrong place, I apologize.

Basically I'm buying a HTC Droid Incredible in hopes I can use it on my MetroPCS plan ($40/mo).

Under this plan on a MetroPCS normal phone I can get Talk, Text, MMS, and Internet.

I was wondering, if I get the HTC Droid Incredible, can I someone go through a process that will make it work under MetroPCS, and by work I mean Talk, text, MMS, and internet. (I know it wouldn't be 3G, just internet speeds like my current basic phone, right?)

I've tried looking up guides but I'm not sure if something has to have already been done for them to work. Basically I need instructions from start (from Deactivated HTC Droid Incredible & Activated MetroPCS Huawei 735 --> Activated HTC Droid Incredible and I guess deactivated MetroPCS Huawei 735)

Thanks, I'm a complete newb when it comes to this stuff, but I have moderate computing knowledge so I just need to know where to start and the steps to go on from there.

Thanks

Hello Atunzuman and welcome to AF.

From what I've read about it you have a few options for doing this.
I think you can call your provider and ask about unlocking your device, but they will probably not unlock it. You can buy an already unlocked phone and I think by inserting your SIM card in it will work, but I've heard unlocked phones can have bad signals and stuff because of it being off a carrier it wasn't designed to run off of.
I have read of services that will unlock your device, but IMO I wouldn't use them.

Using a Verizon phone on any other network will take lots of hacking, much of it can be illegal. Unlike some other Verizon phones the Incredible does not use a SIM nor have GSM capabilities. Have you scoped out the Incredible forums?

Thanks for your responses! And yea I don't think HTC Inc uses Sim cards, could be wrong though. And I also think MetroPCS discontinued MetroFlash :\

I'll check the HTC Inc forums.

Yea but I'm not sure if that can be done anymore because I've heard that MetroPCS has discontinued doing MetroFlash?
