Default Kies Wont Detect Firmware

Hey, I have a Samsung Galaxy SII X (Telus Canada) (SGH-T989D) which I would like to upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich using Kies. However, when I plug in my phone and connect it to Kies, the program seems to be unable to recognize the current firmware and therefore gives me no option to upgrade.

I know for a fact that the upgrade is available for this phone I just canít figure out why Kies is unable to do this for me. I have tried several computers (Windows 7 and XP) but nothing works.

The phone has never been flashed but has been restored to factory settings a few times. Itís currently running Android 2.3.5.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
