I purchased the G1 on may 28th. my phone startted to mess up on me, so i took it back to the tmobile retail store. the day that i took it back was when i was getting my cupcake update. they gave me a new phone at the store, i was wondering if i would still receive the update, since i was already receiving it when i took it back. will i get it again? and will it help with my battery life?

you should still get the update yes, if you don't you can update it manually...

1) Download this: http://www.getyourdroidon.com/root/signed-kila-ota-148830.de6a94ca.zip

2) rename signed-kila-ota-148830.de6a94ca.zip to update.zip

3)Power off/reboot the phone holding down home+power to get to the recovery screen

4) hit ALT+L to view text and ALT+S to install the update...

5) when it finishes hit home+back to reboot and enjoy....

Missed Important Step ... Ooops

STEP 2.5 Connect the Data Cable between PC & phone, Mount SDCard &
COPY the UPDATE.ZIP file to the SDCard

or just download it directly to the phone from the phone.... it does have wifi and 3g......
