I have an HTC Inspire with the latest Android OS software. I also had this issue with the previous software version. This problem has existed for a while now.
The problem is that my screen will no longer auto rotate......even it is checked in my settings! What gives? Software bug?
Thanks!

Umm that's weird, we would need more info on your setup, are you rooted or stock, have you also checked in your device forum to see if others are having the same issue ??

It will not autorotate evertwhere? or in just certain parts of the interface? Take note that in some places, like the homescreen, I don't think autorotate is supported by the latest version of Sense UI.

Did you install it from an official update, or flashed a custom ROM?
Official update (always!). That is not the point. It stopped working prior to the upgrade. I upgraded it to hopefully resolve the issue, but it persists.

Is the orientation sensor completely broken? Do games or such respond to tilt movements of the device? If not (or respond incorrectly/erratically), I would say the sensor has gone bad.

What sensor?
I have never played a game on this phone. I do notice I can no longer take "landscape" photos!
Who can fix this? I can't use it like this. A little over a year old.
If you recently dropped it the sensor could have broke. Had an iPhone do that once despite being in an otterbox.
Launchers are aftermarket or custom home screens with different features than what comes out of the box. You aren't rooted so you don't have any other launchers installed
