Phone not recognizing Sim Contacts
I've looked online and while I can find this issue reported I haven't found a solution to the problem.
I just got a Samsung Advance GTi9070. I have all my contacts on the SIM card, and I want to import them. When I choose contacts->menu->import/export->import from sim a screen occurs with at the top 'Importing from sim', but it finds no contacts to import.
So for some reason, the phone doesn't seem to be able to read the contacts from the sim card.
I can send and receive calls and texts.
I tried setting the phone to factory defaults: No change.
When I put the sim card in my old phone, it reads the contacts on the sim card, so they must be there. I've also tried my sim in my friends Samsung phone and it picks up my contacts. My friend tried her sim in my phone and again it didn't pickup her contacts.
I also read a suggestion of wedging down the sim in the back of the phone with some paper to see if that made a difference - it didn't.
I could write down all names and phone numbers and re-enter them in the new phone, but I guess the import function should work.
Are there any suggestions that I could try?
