Default Is 256Mb of RAM enough for Android powered smartphone

I want to buy Motorola Milestone (because it is the only Android powered phone with keyboard + large screen), but the one of it's main drawbacks is just 256mb in contrast to 384/512mb in newest Android phones like Nexus one or so on. I believe that sooner or later the bootloader will be hacked so why not to look a little bit forward to future Android builds. So it would be very interesting to hear your opinion: is 256Mb RAM enough or it would be better to wait 512Mb powered phones in case of future Android's upgrading?

It's an entirely subjective matter. Many of us find 256 to be enough. Does that mean you will? Not necessarily.

I personally say no.

Google needs to make a mandate, similar to winmo7, with minimum specs on the phone. It should have at LEAST 512M ram.
