Default freedom pop

Has anyone used freedom pop?

It claims to give 500mb of free 4g a month. There have been a few reviews by WSJ, TechCrunch, etc. but they all say pretty much nothing about the service. And I can't get anything out of the website without giving them an email address (a slight red flag).

I see on the home page that they offer sleeves for apple products. But in some reviews they discuss hotspots, etc and you only have to pay for a deposit for the device.

Free Wireless Internet | Free Internet | 4G Wireless Internet - FreedomPop

Just curious.

Thanks!

Another red flag, the domain appears to be registered via anonymous proxy. Evidently they don't want to be found.
