Default Can the Nexus 7 be a Kindle?

I'm thinking of buying a Nexus 7 table to replace my Kindle. Can it read all books that a Kindle can read? Thanks
Pete

Amazon's Kindle Reader is cross platform in just about every manner one could want:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000493771

(Um....don't know why above URL is not working. If you cut and paste the text into a new tab, it should work.)

I use my Nexus 7 to read books. I use the Amazon Kindle app. I haven't run into any problems as far as format goes.

From what I understand, the only books you can't read on the kindle app are books from Amazon's lending library (available to Amazon Prime members). All other books are available...

I'm completely baffled as to why someone would ever by a Kindle Fire.

Before the Nexus 7 (about a 6-month window) the Fire made sense. Only $200. Android apps. Tablet with access easy access to all things Amazon.

Now, I would agree with you.

Yes, that is a concern. My Kindle Keyboard (not the Fire) goes forever without a recharge.
