Default should i buy fragile galaxy s3

Hi guys i am college student and had been saving some money from past so many months to buy a good android phone ..currently i am having a samsung s5620 and eyeing upon GALAXY S3 as my next phone ...For me spending more then 500$ altogether for a phone was so much so had been saving from past so many month..last night i was going through drop tests on s3 on youtube..and every drop test shows that the screen of s3 is very fragile and breaks easily..its even weaker then the weakest of all-apple 4s..
now m getting very confused that should i spend a fortune on a phone that breaks too easily..i had dropped my old samsung monte phones 100 of times and dont even had a scratch on it...
now m in dilemma wether to buy it or not. cz i drop my phone too many times..and good cased like otterbox and ballistic are not available in my country easily..so i would have to go for local based case..
what should i do ..should i buy it or look for some other phone???? reply pllzzz

Funny, I just went to Best Buy yesterday to get a new TV internet thingy, and I checked out all the phones they had on display.

Two of the Galaxy IIIs were broken, and the one I handled felt plasticy to me. I am used to my Razr Maxx and apparently spoiled by its sturdy feel. The screen on the Maxx is shatterable too, but I've never had a phone without a case for it.

I guess if you get drop insurance (Best Buy offers it on cameras, don't know if they offer it for cell phones) you could rest easy.

YouTube drop tests aren't tests really and anything can break from a freak fall, it just has to land a certain way.

Getting a good case helps a great deal.

Hi jasleen007..

Welcome aboard.

The possibility of dropping your phone and breaking the glass doesn't happen very often - especially if you have on a rubberized case protector (which am quite sure sells in your country).

If we should buy a device base on a video on Youtube- then am sure most device would not be sold.

My advice to you is, get the phone..protect it with a rubberized case and enjoy one of the best phone around. :b)

P.s. I don't have a case on my phone (only a screen protector to avoid scratches) and I've never dropped it - ever.

I purchased a $8 TPU case for my phone. I've dropped my phone twice now with no damage done.

Bubble wrap, lots of bubble wrap, I personally keep my S3 in 4-5 layers of bubble wrap for everyday use and if I am doing something extreme like bike riding or running I use at least 8 layers.

You wont be disappointed. And I recommend this case. Offers good protection without adding a lot of bulk.

Why not spend $350 on the galaxy nexus? It hurts a lot less to spend that then the full price of an S3. Then hop on Amazon and get a good case for $10, and enjoy.
