Default Orange Contract

I am nearly at the end of my contract with Orange. I was going to get the Galaxy Note 2 on an early upgrade but I couldn't wait that long haha. Anyway, I took out another contract with Orange and got the Galaxy Note 2.

I am finding it strange as to why I don't have 4G and the sim card says 3G.

Could it be because I live in a town that isn't supporting the 4G? I live in Dundee, Scotland.

Any help would be nice. It would also save me from being on a contract that I have been misled.

Thank you

4G requires the following to get it to work in the UK
1) To be in an area where 4G is supported.. there are currently 10 cities where this works at the moment, so despite all the press and publicity EE barely have a 4G network (even when compared to the launch of 3G in the UK)
2) A phone that is capable of 4G. (not all versions of a phone will have the 4G stuff inside)
3) An EE contract that has 4G support.. a standard EE one won't work. (You can tell if you have a 4G one due to the smaller and much more expensive data allowance )

If you don't have 1,2 and 3, then you're out of luck.

Things will change over the next couple of years, but at the moment, 3G is still the best option to be on.

You can't have 4G if there isn't 4G coverage in your area. It's like back in the days of analog TV. If the station does not have a signal in that area, no go.
