Hi All,

I guess most family readers have this issue.

Mum or Dad get a new phone, 5yr old child wants old phone. Not a problem except child wants the phone to charge up and switch on resulting in the phone possibly making emergency calls.

I have searched high and low for how to stop this happening. Is it possible? Does anyone know how?

I did think about ripping out the aerial. Would this work? For example on a Sony Ericsson Walkman W910, does anyone know how I could do this?

Cheers

Hey adders21!

I've moved your thread from the FAQ area to the Android Lounge where I think you'll get more views and responses.

Would simply putting it into airplane mode work?

Also, if the device was rooted, you could disable the dialer app.

Cheers to you, too, and best of luck!

P.S., if this about the Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman - Android Forums, then I'd be happy to move your thread over there, too (let me know ).

why not take out the battery or sim card instead of ripping out the Ariel...

Airplane mode! Now there's a good idea, I didn't think of that.
