hi. i have a problem with my GS3.

im from the Philippines so pardon me if my english sucks. im a mobile prepaid user, and every time i purchase cell phone load for my phone, im always surprised to found that my cell phone load has been reduced even if i haven't made any calls or sms yet. for example, i purchase 100 pesos worth of load, and within a few minutes, i'll check my balance and found out that my remaining load is only 1 peso even though i haven't made any calls or sms or surf the internet using my phone.

this same problem happens to my sister's galaxy note too.

can anyone help me how to fix this?

This could be a carrier problem. Only thing we can suggest you do is call up the carrier you are with and tell them about the problem you are having.

the android phones also use data to update a lot of things in the background.. weather, facebook, maps, etc...

you can turn off all carrier network data... only turn on when you really need it.

Anyway, I'm from the Phils too and my sister has a Galaxy Fit and this used to happen to her (she had the phone for a couple of weeks before I was able to get at it). The mobile data was open so I disabled it and it does not eat the prepaid credits anymore.

If you use your phone to surf the internet, you will have data enabled. However some apps need to sync in the background. Each time these apps connect the internet, it uses up credits (load in the Pinoy slang). What you can do it go pull down the notification bar and slide the toggles there from right to left. You will see the toggle for "mobile data". Turn it off. You can just turn it on again when you want to use mobile internet.
