Question mobile hotspot / tehtering querrys

me again.

so i recently got a nexus 7, and having lots of fun using my phone to tether / mobile hotspot.

currently on 3 (a Uk network) with all you can eat data, and the tethering addon, which is £5 a month. but i noticed, my tethering allowance hasnt gone down.

then someone told me that tethering is phyisicaly plugging stuff into your phone, and that mobile hotspot is completely different and is effectively "free" and just part of your normal data plan.

is this true, as if it is, it means that i wont have to pay for the tethering addon.

many thanks,
Richard

sweet thanks. i guess tethering is only if you want to plug it into a PC and use it as a modem.

I'm not sure why they'd charge more for that and not the hotspot. I find the hotspot much more useful
