no charge..in emulator

I was trying out the MyfirstApp programm as given in developer.android website.I am trying it on the emulator.Problem is the device is telling "Connect your charger" and showing 0 battery and hence going no further.Yes..its not any real device...IT IS THE EMULATOR.I am absolutely new to ANdroid programming so may be its a mundane problem for the rest..however i am completely confused.Pls help
