Default Can't Disable New Email Notification Sound!

Jelly Bean 4.1 HTC One x.

I have 5 email accounts. 3 are standard mail accounts. 2 were setup as Google accounts so I can sync calendars and other stuff associated with the accounts.

All 3 regular email accounts, the Notifications setting is OFF.

I can't find a notifications toggle setting on the Google Accounts.

There is no option to disable access to the notification bar in the App Settings for the Mail App.

Maybe there is no way to disable new email notifications on Jelly Bean when using Google accounts? Tell me it isn't so! I don't use my phone to constantly read/send email. All I want is to see the unread count on the mail icon. No sounds, nothing else.

If I can't find a way to turn of the notification settings on the Google accounts, it seems what I would have to do is disable Email sync on those accounts and run a third party mail app, and just setup all 5 accounts through that (3 IMAP, and 2 POP for the two google accounts.)

I found it. Google account email comes into the Gmail app and that app you can go to App Settings and turn off notifications. Now to figure out why I can't use one mail app for all accounts?

Not to be rude, but have you viewed this? http://www.htc.com/managed-assets/support/user-guide/user-manual/htc-one-x/HTC_One_X_User_Guide.pdf

I've noticed that you've asked quite a few similar questions in the Android Lounge. Might I suggest reading the manual and visiting the http://androidforums.com/htc-one-x-xl forum.

Hopefully the guide and doing some research in your phone specific forum will help?

To answer your question, do the following.
Go into gmail, settings, selects the account, then uncheck the box next to the account(s) you do not want notifications.

You can. You do not have to use gmail to read/write email. I use the default email app, for all my email.
