Send to Google gone!

Usually in the Contacts stock app, when you click on Menu, the option to send contacts to Samsung or Google was easily and always there. After the latest firware 4.1.1 installed yesterday that option has disappeared and replaced by new ones that don't allow that feature. Where did it go and how can I get it back?

Pretty sure now you can only create google contacts. However you should be able to set up Syncing with Samsung's thing, if not then you can only create Google contacts, which isn't bad because then they are automatically synced with your Gmail account and always on it

Thank you - I am afraid you're right. It is so weird how companies mess with successful features that neither hindered the os of the phone nor did anyone seriously request the change. It was an easy to use feature to sync all contacts in a second with Google. So strange.

Still, I was wondering if I changed or messed up something without realizing it. I also had tried to put contacts on the sim card for additional safety but it only went as far as 250.

I have redundant backups through ATT, Kies and Samsung as well - just bothers me when good simpl.e features are changed for no reason.

Yeah but hey, i don't know if you really need any more backups other than Google, just because wherever you sign in on that account your contacts will follow you there. Sorry about the inconvenience.

As DC suggested, I'm fairly sure that your contacts are synced with your Google account, and will follow you without you even having to consciously choose the "Send to Google" option - in fact, it makes that option redundant.
