Notsure Repairing Damaged SDHC Card

Hi forum,

I have a tricky problem, that perhaps some of you may have run into before.
I recently wiped a 16 GB Samsung SDHC card using CCleaner Drive Wiper utility. After doing so, it is unreadable. I have tried to format it on a Samsung Mesmerize SCH-I500, a LG Optimus Elite, In Windows using SDFormatter, fdsik and other utilities and on Ubuntu using Disk Utility and other methods.

On the Samsung--the phone it came with--it presents an error "Damaged SD Card" and on a PC it gives a write protection error.

If anybody knows some secret to restoring the card to functional state that I have not yet tried, please let me know.
If it is a goner, I guess, so be it.

Thanks in advance for any input.
