Default Does Android automatically mount all partitions of external memory card?

I am about to create a secondary partition on my micro sd card. Will my android phone automatically mount all partitions when the card is inserted? Or will I need to manually mount the second partition via adb or terminal emulator?

thats a good question. i dont see why it wouldnt auto mount if it picks it up. the problem is it might not pick the second partition up. let me poke around the net and see what i can come up with

EDIT: ive added an ext3 partition to one of my sd cards for apps2sd and it mounted fine. are you trying to create a similar situation? or are you formatting the second partition in fat32?

Default that was quick...

...well, you see, I'm trying to run Ubuntu on my phone (the Linuxonandroid thing). But my phone does not support loop mount. So instead, I'm going to use the second sdcard partition for the Ubuntu system. What do you think about this method?
The bootscript uses ext2 for the loop device. So I guess the secondary partition has to be ext2 too.
And thank you for your quick response.
