Default HELP!

Hi!
I have the Galaxy S 2 and something really weird happened...
My data is usually turned off, I just turn it on when I need something.
Yesterday I turned on the data just to look up something (I was using it for about a half of a hour).
Then I suddently got a warning that i'm gonna go over my limit. So I went to check what used all that internet, and Android OS used 400mb (the internet was only 50mb).
Android never used up this much, this was the first time to happen...
Could it be a virus or something? (I haven't downloaded anything...)
I'm scared to turn on the data, beacuse if I go over it's really expensive...
