Default problem viewing MMS on Samsung Galaxy SII

Hi There,
I have a Samsung Galaxy SII and I am also with Telus.
my problem is that when somebody sends me a MMS it shows up as a link in my text inbox. However I dont have data on my plan so I cannot open it.
In other SII I see the picture show up in the text inbox.
Is there a reason mine is showing up as a link and not showing the picture? If so is there a way I can change that?
Thanks in advance

You need to have both the MMS and data enabled on your phone to get the message as pictures. MMS is sent via a data connection, and phones cannot download the picture immediately unless data is enabled.

Okay thanks for the info.
However I also have a HTC Sensation and I always keep the data turned off unless I need it so I dont accidently use it and rack up a huge bill and I am still able to receive picture message okay.
Just wondering, does it make sense how I can receive them okay with HTC and not Samsung?

Not really sure. All phones I've used (Motorola, Nokia, Samsung) all cannot receive MMS with data off. Perhaps something with HTC's app or something that allows it to retrieve via other methods. But I can't be sure.
