Default "Blank" SD Card?

I did the support update last night, which was basically nothing. my tab came with jellybean installed (I hadn't realized!) and I had been ignoring the update because I didn't want to update versions of android. I did that once already on my phone and wasn't happy. Anyway, so once I realized it was a samsung update and not an android update, i ran it.

the only thing i notice different is now it won't read the SD card. it had said "damaged SD card". I have barely nothing on there, so I don't care if it formats, but it won't format through the Tab. I formatted it on my computer, which reads it fine. then i put it back in the Tab and it says "Blank or unsupported SD card."

What causes this and can it be fixed? thanks!

okay, never mind. i reformatted it on the computer. then i put it back in after I had turned off the unit. when i turned it back on, it asked to format the card and I said what the heck, might as well. so i did and now it seems to be working. glad i didn't ahve too much on there. so next question - what's the best way to back up the SD card contents?

The easiest is to connect the phone to your PC via USB. the SD card will unmount from the phone and be mounted by the computer. Then you just copy what you want to back up to a folder on the computer.

Frustrated. Just did a restart on the tablet and now the SD card isn't reading again
