Angry Android email & Outlook 2010 problem

I am using a POP3 email server and have a PC & Laptop running Outlook 2010 when I receive a email on my phone Samsung S3. I have noticed if I read it on my phone my PC & laptop no longer receives the email even though it is on my server still.
It looks like it has marked it as read and outlook wont download it, my old i-phone never had this problem this has now caused me loads of problems as i have now lost a few emails.

Has anyone got any ideas how to stop this happening.

Make sure 'Sync deletes with server' is unchecked in server settings.
