Hi guys,

I recently switched from the iPhone 4 to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. One of the big pain points is notifications.

When I install an new App, it uses its own default notification settings. In general, I prefer not to have notifications save a few apps. Is there a centralized way to manage notifications? It would be a pain to have to manage them app by app.

I thought apps use the default notification when you install them. If you want to set specific notifications on an app by app basis, then you would configure the notifications specifically within the app. If you just set all apps to use the default notification, then you should be able to control them all by setting what the default notification would be.

The easiest way to do it would be when you receive a notification you don't want, longpress the notification. It will then let you disable the notifications from that app. It's one of the many differences between ios and android, but you do have to set up notifications per app.

Thanks guys. I made my default ringtone silent and then changed it for the app or two I wanted to make sounds.

I still think that the iPhone central app management is more convenient.
