When I get to the recovery screen all I see is the android with red exclamation mark. I want to do a factory reset so I can sent it back in as part of my replacement from assurion.

what phone do you have?

you do not have recovery. if you get an exclamation mark that means you do not have a custom recovery.

let us know what phone you have so that i can move the thread in the right forum where peeps with the same phone can help you out as a lot of these kind of things are phone specific.

also can you give us a more detailed explanation on what you did to get to this point. the more info you give us the better we can help you.
