[SOLVED] Domain names with dash (-) symbol cannot be resolved
I have searched many forums, googled the problem in different wordings, still there does not seem to be one thread or article addressing a similar issue.
The following happens:
Whenever I type a domain name, that contains a dash symbol (-) in any
browser on my Galaxy S3, I get a server not found error. I tried with stock browser, Firefox, Chrome and Boat browser, same result everywhere. No matter what domain name, may it be a well-known website or an obscure one. Also, When I try to register an email account, where the domain has a dash symbol, the email address is not recognised as an email address.. (i.e.: please type your email address error message occurs).
Interestingly enough, when I select a hyper-link that redirects to a dash domain, that would work with no problem...
I cannot verify if this is handset-specific, as I have no access to another android device at the moment...
suggestions anyone? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
