Default Smartwatch with no data plan?

Hello all,

My son has executive functioning problems and needs to be prompted to get anything done. The new smart watches would be very helpful, because it appears I could set up all of his reminders in the calendar and he would be alerted to the next task on his wrist. However, from what I could figure out, these watches are all just dumb terminals for a phone.

So what I would like to know is if there is a phone I could get that doesn't require activation as a phone or with a data plan that might drive one of these watches?

Thanks very much for any help.

Any android phone/tablet should pair over Bluetooth with the watch without a problem. No activation required. If you'd like a data plan so you can update the calendar over the internet then Virgin mobile's 35$ or T-mobile's 30$ plan should meet your needs. Except I don't know what country you live in so maybe those plan's won't help you at all.

yeah.. the watch (all android devices) does not have to have an active wireless data plan.

you can setup the watch to sync via the home wifi (or any wifi that is open to you). login to the watch's google account online (on any PC)... setup his calendar reminders as needed. when the watch is within range of wifi's that you give it access to..it will sync up.
