An Incredibly Strange Problem...
Having an issue that I hope can be resolved here as no amount of googling is aiding me. I apologise if this is in the wrong section.
My HTC Sensation got a little old and erratic and often played the random restart game, however last week decided to drop all signal entirely. It would occasionally read 'Insert SIM' but more often just be without any signal, network etc.
Took her to the shop - Orange UK now EE - and after the bloke tested my SIM in his phone, which worked, paid the £25 excess to have a new phone delivered.
This is where things get strange..
The new handset arrives and straight out of the box the same issue arises. I try all sorts of SIM troubleshooting advice, cleaning, shimming, trawling through settings to try find some method of working it. I think, hey, this SIM worked in a different phone so how can a new phone not work? I go downstairs and swap sims with a friend, also an orange customer...
His SIM didn't work in mine, nor mine in his. We swap back. I have the same issue. He, on a completely different handset, I think an xperia or something, inherits my disease. His phone fails too, exactly the same, no signal. So now after having somehow passed on a fault to a new phone I find myself completely stuck.
Like I say, no amount of googling has come up with anything similar so I hope that you guys may be my best chance. I am by no means an expert on phones but understand the basics. Any clues?
