Default my friends say they use 8gb month.this possible?

hey fellaz,

I just got my first smart phone. this will be my second month. the first month I only used 1.75gb. and I d/l tons of stuff, watched youtube frequently, listen to Pandora etc...

a few of my friends were telling me they use about 8gb or more a month. is this possible? didn't seem fesable to me. maybe once in a great while if u happen to stream alot of audio/video. but not everymonth.

there bill most be astronomical. lol. I'm sure they have a contract phone.

I had mentioned to them that I just got straight talk and it comes with about 2gb month with unlimited browsing. that's the catch lol

if it is possible, how?

thx

Depends on how much you use, especially if you tether. When I am in the dorm for example, and I tether, I can reach up to 30GB a month. Now I don't stream music, but I've used about 2GB in 14 days. Just depends in your usage pattern. Luckily for me, my contract has unlimited data, sms and 150min for about $50 mo.

for myself I use excessive data because all my internet downloading goes through my phone(can't get decent internet where I live) and there have been times I've downloaded programs where 1file is over a gig. so its totally possible to get that high but its all in how you use it, if you use your phone casually then racking up high data may never be a problem for you

a few years back, when windows mobile ruled the world, and iPhones hadnt been mentioned by anyone, i managed to clock up 5GB in a month. I was working away from home and used my phone to keep up on my podcasts (which i normally downloaded on my home wifi)...

Despite being on an 'unlimited' plan, i got a letter in the post from T-mobile UK asking me if I wouldn't mind downloading less data... so its perfectly possible to hit 8gb in a month.

My regular usage is about 3-4 GB per month, but I have got as high as 15 once, streaming a lot of Netflix.

My billing cycle ends in 3 days and right now for this month I'm at 20.35GB

I stream all of my music (mostly while driving) from Slacker Radio, and at work I sometimes watch a lot of YouTube. Other than those 2 things I don't use a lot of data (probably <2GB/month total for everything else)

I'm on a similar boat as chrls.
I have 8 days left on my usage cycle and I have 15.4GB used. Mostly from YouTube

Yep that's easily done, I've done that in a day, downloaded a whole series in 1080p.
