Default Can You Go Back After Installing Leak?

If I install this leaked v3 for the Droid Eris, would I be able to go back and set the phone to its factory config? What happens if it should need warranty repair/replacement? Will this void the warranty or would they know if I went back to the original version ROM?

As long as you do a Nandroid backup before installing the custom ROM you can use Nandroid restore to put the ROM back as it was.

Officially it will void your warranty but I've never heard of anyone being refused because of this. If for some reason you cannot access the phone to do a Nandroid restore then the likelihood is that the manufacture would just replace the main board or the whole phone so they would not know that it has a custom ROM anyway.

I'm an Eris user and read the Eris board regularly. There is no way to go back to 1.5. Installing the leak is a one-way upgrade. The latest rumor is that the OTA upgrade will occur "soon" (whatever soon is). This did come from Verizon -- they just wouldn't name a date.
