Default Best Media Player?

On Windows Mobile I used TCPMP and it could play any format; FLV, MP4, AVI (Could play DivX in theory, but the phone lacked physical resources I guess).

Is there a program for Android that let's me play most formats?

I've always liked Meridian Media Player. Plays both audio and video. I'm not exactly sure what all video formats it covers, but of the couple videos I have tried, I haven't ran into any issues. To be fair though, I generally just use it to play MP3s. Still, it is a nice all in one package that you should check out.

What formats (other than MP3, which you already said) does it play that you know of?

I was going to start typing all this out, but I'm tired and lazy, so here you go:

Eternal Sand: Meridian Player

Browsing through there should be able to answer all your questions. Also, for your viewing pleasure, a recent review of this app:

Meridian Media Player Pioneer adds advanced media player functionality to Android [App Reviews] | chrissmith | Androinica

Enjoy.

Meridian will not play MOV, MPG, RAW etc. Doesn't seem to play ANYTHING different than stock.

Droid. 2.1. Unrooted.

Are you using WMP 9 because you're only running Windows 98? I hated WMP until WMP 11 came out. I love WMP 11. Microsoft really surprised me with that one. The UI is great and it looks really sharp. It's a free download, of course, but it's only available for XP and Vista.

Did you make sure to check the box that allows applications from unknown sources?
